— Chapter 01

Overview

Most leaders do not lack ability. They lack space, to think clearly, to challenge their own assumptions, and to be held to a standard by someone outside the team they lead. Without that space, even the most capable people plateau, repeat patterns, and confuse busyness with progress.

At Bloomfield Partners, coaching is built for the people whose decisions move the business. Founders, executives, senior leaders, and first-time managers. The work is private, structured, and focused on outcomes, rather than just theoretical knowledge.

This Service Works For

Founders carrying decisions alone, executives stepping into bigger roles, leadership teams that need to operate at a higher level, first-time managers learning the role under pressure, and organisations investing in the people who will run the business in five years’ time.

Impact

Coaching done well changes how a business is led. Decisions improve, conflict reduces and standards are uplifted. Teams feel the difference even when they do not know coaching is happening. Done badly, it becomes a series of conversations with no outcome. Bloomfield’s coaching is held to one measure: visible, sustained behaviour change in the person being coached, and measurable improvement in the team or business they lead.

Common Questions

How is coaching different from training?

Training builds skills against a curriculum. Coaching builds capability against real decisions the leader is facing now. Both have value. They are not interchangeable.

How long does a coaching engagement run?

Most engagements run six to twelve months, with sessions every two to four weeks. Shorter engagements are possible for specific transitions. Longer ones are common for sustained development.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes. Absolutely. Nothing discussed in a session is shared with the company, the manager, or anyone else without the coach’s explicit consent. That confidentiality is the foundation of the work.

How do you match a coach to a leader?

We assess the leader’s role, context, goals, and preferences, then introduce a coach whose experience aligns. The coach always has the final say on the match.

What do you need from us to get started?

A discovery call with the leader and, where relevant, the sponsoring executive. We will define the goals, structure the engagement, and confirm fit before any work begins.
